Seeing Double Again

Greetings from a sunny, warm day in Riga. The days are getting longer and nature of all kinds is waking up. I did enjoy the cold, snowy winter, but now I’m ready for spring.

I’m also ready to revisit the two-headed voodoo fetish shadow figure that I first drew and posted about (“Is This Drawing Finished?”) a couple weeks back. There are other figures to draw in that series, but I had to take another run at it, this time with black ink and brush.

And here it is, this time titled “Two-Headed Demon Mother”. I like both drawings, but I think the stark black and white suits the subject better, gives it a more eerie quality. This version also feels more heavy; the rounded form of the arms feel more powerful and solid. I also completed the baby in this one, which was just hinted at in the first drawing, and gives a nice contrast to the creepy twin-skulls.

Next week, I will choose a much different subject, something light and nice perhaps. There are plenty of demons running amuck in the real world at the moment, so I’ll try and bring a bit of light.

Until then, don’t forget to let your abundance flow!

OK HW
