Films

Growing up in the 1970s, my first movies were backyard Super8 epics emulating the sci-fi and monster movies I loved. Not much has changed since then, just the tools and the way we watch videos and movies. Here is a selection of some of my short films and music videos.

A collaboration with Neil Bruce (Light B4 Sound); his music and my visuals. The challenge of this piece was to create imagery from organic sources with no motion graphics, simple layering of footage. I shot all the footage on an iPhone SE (3rd) and edited in DaVinci Resolve. Neil Bruce links- https://vimeo.com/lightb4sound

This video was originally created as background during live performances and wasn’t intended to be a final music video. All footage is public domain harvested from www.archive.org. For more information about the band, please visit – http://steamyatticrecords.com/uglyography/

A music video that I created for my friend Neil Bruce from his album “Senescence” (https://www.cdbaby.com/cd/lightb4sound2) from the the third track “Senescence III – My dream of life”. I used footage shot at the Sumida Aquarium in Tokyo, Japan in the summer of 2015. I was inspired by the hypnotic, ethereal quality of Neil’s music and the floating, dream-like visuals of aquatic life.

ZANK” is a 3 minute, stop motion animation DADAist journey featuring everything from a screaming nun to tiki mugs and a special appearance by the buddha. It is the tale of one small beings journey to find peace and acceptance in a world filled with false gods and worldly temptations. Originally created for Richmond, Va Flicker’s “Attack of the 50ft Reels”, “ZANK” was transferred to video and polished up with new titles and a little editing. Featuring an original music score by Neil Spencer Bruce (www.spencerbruce.com), the new version of “ZANK” was completed June 2005.
